Lhasa - EBC - Kailash - Guge - Kashgar and K2 Base Camp Tour
s

Mt. Kailash
Few Mountain reval Holy Mt. Kailash and lake Manasarovar for its mystique. It is considered to be the "center of the universe" by Hindus, Buddhist, Jain and Bonpo and its flanks give birth to four great Asian rivars the Indus, Brahmaputra, Ganges and Satlej. Accordingly its near legendary reputation draws pilgrims from throughout Asia to walk the sacred path arround the earthly incarnation of the mythical Mount Meru and Lake Manasarovar. Once pilgrimage journey made to this holy site assures the free from the sins of a lifetime.

Guge Kingdom
The ruins lie on a hilltop near a river and cover 180,000 square meters. Houses, cave dwellings, monasteries and stupas were found on the hill and surrounding area. Palaces sat at the summit, while monasteries were on the mountainside and cave dwellings for the common people were at the foot of the hill. The kingdom was enclosed by tunnels and walls which acted as fortifications. Some structures survive time and remain in good condition in this isolated region, though many structures have been reduced to dust. A two-kilometer (1.2mile) long tunnel was built of stones, but is now in ruin, dives the summit to the river below and was used as a water supply for the Guge people.

Kashgar
Khashgar, also called Khashi, was once a major halt for caravans on the Silk Road .It is now a prosperous commercial centre with a population composed of Uighur, Tajik and Kirgiz nationalities. Here it is the Han Chinese who are in the minority.

K2 Base Camp From China

The north base camp of K2 lies in a remote corner of China's Xingjiang province. Only a handful of people have ever travelled to this isolated mountain wilderness on the north side of the Karakoram range. Recently opened to foreigners this is one of the most unspoilt and least visited parts of the entire Himalayas. The mighty Shagskam river drains the waters flowing north from the great Karakoram peaks and carves a deep channel through the mountainous landscape. The valleys here are at a much lower altitude than those on the Pakistan side of the range, giving a far greater vertical height gain to the high summits. Many thousands of trekkers and climbers have seen the majestic Karakoram 8000m peaks from the Pakistan side, but few have ventured on the long trek through China to view K2, Broad Peak and the Gasherbrums from the north.

This tour can be commenced either from Kathmandu, OR from Lhasa OR mainland China (Chengdu or Beijing). The trip can be designed as per your amount of time and the places you would like to cover within the tour.
